In January 2007, Ka focused for the first time in her career on ice hockey and accepted an offer of the threetime European Cup winner AIK Solna from Stockholm. After five years with the Lady Kodiaks Kornwestheim in the German Bundesliga and three national championships as well as one vice-championship, the transfer to Europe’s best league, the Elitserien in Sweden, is a further peak level of Ka Lehmann’s career.
Already in the first game for AIK Solna she lived up to the high expectations placed in her with three goals for her new club. The first title wasn´t a long time coming: After only two weeks in Sweden, Ka won with Solna the so called Pool Games, in which the top four Swedish teams compete against each other. Ka Lehmann’s first season. The season was crowned by the dreamed winning of the Swedish Championship: Solna won the final against the local rival Segeltorp with 2-1 after Sudden Death.
Ka Lehmanns international successes increased during the currently 13 years she is playing for the Swiss national team to an impressing quantity: European Championschip - Bronze medal (1995 Riga) and two B- World Championschip gold medals hang in Ka´s trophy vitrin. Apart from the participation in four A-WorldCchampionships (WC), two B-WCs and two European Championships Ka Lehmann was also member of the Swiss Delegation of the XX. Olympic Winter Games 2006 in Torino (Italy) .
The Swiss national team managed the qualification for the Olympic games by winning against China in the qualification tournament 2004 with 3-2. The winning goal was scored six seconds to the end in a legendary and on dramatic and tautness unsurpassable match.
Ka Lehmann’s recent success with the Swiss national team was the 5th place on the past WC in Winnipeg (Canada) 2007. This is the best result of the Swiss women´s national team on A-WC since 1990. This tournament will remain in Ka Lehmann’s special memory because it was the first time she lead the national team as the Captain into a WC. Besides that, Ka scored the most important goal in her present career: The goal to the 1-0 victory against Germany that fixed the stay in the A-Pool and was the headstone for the success in Winnipeg.
